The Cellar Schematic

The Cellar Schematic is a modern cellar book for people who care about what's in the glass.

Add bottles two ways: scan a label, or type a wine in when the bottle isn't in front of you.

Every field is editable whichever way you choose.

On an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, scanning a label works with nothing connected at all — and the photograph never leaves your device.

SCANNING, WITH NOTHING CONNECTED

The app reads the label on the device itself — producer, wine, vintage, region, appellation, grape and alcohol, wherever the bottle prints them. The region is matched against a built-in atlas of 834 wine regions under 7,060 names, so the words on the bottle are what place it. Where Apple's private cloud is available, what the label leaves off — the region a producer works in, the grape, the colour — is filled in from Apple's own knowledge, at no cost to you.

ADD WITHOUT THE BOTTLE

Some wine you never hold before it's yours — delivered straight to storage, bought en primeur, or kept by a friend. Tap + and type it in: producer, wine and vintage are enough, and where Apple's private cloud is available the region, grape and colour are filled in for you.

DRINKING WINDOWS

Know when to drink your wine. Each bottle is classified Hold, Drink Now, Drink Soon or Past Peak — set it yourself, or connect an OpenAI account and the window behind it is estimated for you.

THE VIRTUAL SOMMELIER (optional AI feature)

Ask what to open tonight, what pairs with the salmon, or which bottles are ready now. Recommendations come from your own cellar, not a generic database.

THE VIRTUAL CONCIERGE (optional AI feature)

Tap and ask. The Concierge answers questions about the app itself, in plain language, so you spend your time pouring rather than reading manuals.

WHERE TO BUY (optional AI feature)

Find current retailers for any wine near you, in your local currency. Discover similar bottles when the one you want isn't available, or source a whole buying list from one or two retailers in a single sweep.

THE CELLAR SCHEMATIC

A signature radial diagram — five rings for category, drinkability, vintage, grape and country — that turns your collection into a single, considered image. Shareable, anonymised, and unmistakably yours.

The Plans show not what you hold but where it lies: each storage area drawn to plan, a circle for every bottle exactly where it sits.

And a world map that plots your cellar rather than listing it — each mark a region you hold, sized by the bottles in it.

A SHARED CELLAR

Invite a partner, a household, or a tasting circle to one cellar via iCloud. Add and update bottles together. Everyone sees the same shelves, in real time.
