About Tiklingo
Turn videos you actually want to watch into language practice you'll open every day.
Tiklingo reads your video and subtitles, then splits the dialogue into short clips, one sentence at a time. Listen first. If you can't make it out, show the subtitles; if that's not enough, show the translation. Loop a line until you get it.
Watch
• Random, Continue, Favorites, Words, and Practice. Swipe up for the next clip
• Split by sentence, dialogue, long clips, or AI chapters, or watch the whole video straight through
• Hold either side of the screen to slow down, swipe right to go back a sentence
• Landscape videos can fill the portrait screen, framed on faces
• Cover burned-in subtitles so you can focus on listening
Words
• Tap a word in the subtitles to look it up. Each word is saved with the line you heard it in
• Shuffle through saved words, or browse them by video
• Export an Anki deck, with the sentence or the translation on the front
Practice
• Fill-in dictation, retell, and translate-back cards
• Type your answer or say it. Speech is recognized on your device
AI Assistant
• Ask about the line you're watching, anytime
• Connect your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint, and keep several services to switch between
Import
• Photos, Files, or a whole folder. MP4, MOV, and MKV
• Paste a YouTube or Bilibili link, or share a video in from another app
• External subtitles, embedded tracks, or on-device transcription with Apple, Whisper, or Parakeet
• Series organized by season, collections imported in a batch
More
• iPad, Bluetooth keyboard, game controller, and background audio
• Videos, subtitles, and learning records stay on your device by default. Tiklingo has no server
• Word lookup, the AI assistant, and AI chapters need an AI service you configure yourself
The free version can import 2 videos. The full version is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited imports and deletion.
