About Tortuga Player
Tortuga is a video player that works with Stremio addons. The addons you install bring the catalogs and the streams, and Tortuga plays them. Tortuga provides no content of its own.
HOW IT WORKS
• Install an addon by its link. Catalogs, search results, title pages and streams come from your addons, and your requests go straight to them.
• Home shows Continue Watching and your addons' catalogs. Discover filters by type and genre. Search covers every addon.
• A movie's or an episode's streams come grouped by addon. Pick one and it plays.
THE PLAYER
• Plays with mpv, with HDR10 and Dolby Vision where your iPhone or iPad supports them.
• Embedded and addon subtitles, matched to the file. Your audio and subtitle choices carry to the next episode.
• Chapters on the scrub bar. Skip intros, recaps and credits with a button or automatically.
• Up next, previous and next episode, playback speed, and subtitle and audio delay.
• Picture in picture.
• Rather use another player? Send the video to another player app on your device.
YOUR LIBRARY
• Progress and watched marks, with Continue Watching on Home to take you back in.
• Tortuga remembers the stream you picked and plays the next episode from the same source.
• Downloads: save movies and episodes, with their subtitles, to watch offline. Tortuga can keep a series topped up with the next unwatched episodes.
WATCH TOGETHER
Open a room and share its code or an invite link. Playback stays in sync, and each person plays the title through their own addons.
YOUR ACCOUNT AND PROFILES
• Sign in with Apple, Google or GitHub. Your profiles, addons, library, progress and profile settings sync across your devices. Link an Apple TV with a QR code or a short code.
• A profile for each person in the household, each with its own addons, library and settings. A PIN is optional.
• Connect Trakt, Simkl, MDBList, MyAnimeList or AniList for scrobbling, watched history, ratings and lists.
• Sync runs on Tortuga's server, or on one you run yourself.
Tortuga is open source under the GPL-3.0 and speaks 21 languages. No ads, and Tortuga runs no analytics of its own.
