Latest updates
1.3.2
Leaderboards, rebuilt
- Each Daily leaderboard now has three tabs. Today shows the top 10 and the players just above and below you. Yesterday shows final standings, and you can share your place. Ranked adds up your best 20 Dailies from the last 30 days, and you appear on it once you've played 10.
- The Word of the Day streak is now one streak across all levels. Finding the word on any level keeps it going, and your best streak so far carries over.
- Check the leaderboard without leaving a game: tap your score, or open it from the game menu.
- If you're signed out of Game Center, the leaderboard now tells you to sign in, instead of saying your score is "still posting".
Easier to learn
- A new five-slide how-to explains the basics in plain words.
- The Daily start card shows the word ladder: words have to get longer as you play, and longer words always score. A bar under the board counts down how many words are left at your current length.
- Short tips during play, like a warning when one more letter will fill a column. You can turn them off in Settings.
Fixes and polish
- Tapping a message on screen now dismisses it, without dropping a letter.
- Fixed the board shrinking after you switched to another app with the keyboard up.
- Settings → About now shows the version and build number.
