About Vanto: NAS Media Player
Connect your NAS, Emby, Jellyfin or Plex and watch your own videos on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Pick a video on your phone, let your Apple TV play it independently, and control playback, audio and subtitles from your phone. Vanto does not provide media content. Some features require Pro.
Connect your own library
Browse Emby, Jellyfin, Plex, SMB and WebDAV sources with posters, seasons, episodes, cast, favorites and playlists you arrange yourself. Import local videos or transfer them through a browser on iPhone, iPad and Mac. No Vanto account is required.
Pick on your phone, watch on Apple TV
Pair an iPhone or iPad with Apple TV. The TV plays through its own source connection while your phone controls pause, resume, seeking, the next episode, audio tracks and subtitle timing. Search for subtitles on your phone and let the TV download and enable them. Both devices need Vanto Pro, the same local network and the same source account. Online subtitle search requires signing in to OpenSubtitles.com on the TV.
Playback, subtitles and offline viewing
Use multiple audio tracks, subtitles, playback speed controls and resume playback. With Pro, download original videos on iPhone, iPad and Mac and choose to save existing external subtitles with them. Embedded subtitles stay in the video. Online subtitle search and Picture in Picture are available on supported platforms.
Edit your library details for free
Edit NFO files, posters, descriptions and cast for writable SMB or WebDAV sources on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Keep series, season and episode details together on one page. Apple TV displays these details without editing them.
Free and Pro
The free version includes one account source, basic browsing and playback, and privacy and access locks. Local videos and NFO editing are free on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Pro adds more sources, phone control of Apple TV, cross-device sync, online subtitles, offline downloads, Picture in Picture, and video and sound enhancements where supported. Annual and lifetime options support Apple Family Sharing.
Formats and devices
Common formats include MKV, MP4, MOV, TS/M2TS, H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC; AAC, AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS/DTS-HD, TrueHD and PCM audio; and SRT, WebVTT, ASS/SSA, PGS/SUP and IDX+SUB subtitles. Actual decoding, HDR, video presentation and audio output depend on the file, device, display and audio connection.
Vanto does not provide, host or sell media content. Only connect to and play content you are authorized to access.
