About Visual REST Client
Your APIs. Your files. Your workspace.
Visual REST Client brings a native API workspace to iPhone and iPad. Open portable .rest and .http files, edit requests, and inspect responses.
BUILD AND SEND REQUESTS
Work with HTTP methods, URLs, query parameters, headers, raw bodies, JSON, forms, multipart data and file uploads. Organize requests in nested collections. Import Postman, Hoppscotch, Bruno, Thunder Client, Insomnia and RapidAPI / Paw collections, with environment selection and a review of unsupported features.
EDIT JSON AND GRAPHQL
Explore JSON objects and arrays as a tree. Add properties, change value types, or switch to raw text. Write GraphQL queries with separate variables, formatting, syntax diagnostics and operation selection.
UNDERSTAND RESPONSES
Check status, timing, headers, the sent request and expandable JSON previews. Search response text, save bodies to Files, and revisit history with the original assertion results. Run collections sequentially with declarative tests, cancellation and stop-on-failure.
AUTHENTICATION AND ENVIRONMENTS
Use Basic, Bearer and OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Reuse file, environment and runtime variables. Store secrets in Keychain and extract JSON, headers and status values for later requests. Manage cookies, proxies and custom certificates.
NATIVE ON IPHONE AND IPAD
Use native controls, keyboard shortcuts and a three-column iPad workspace. The interface is available in English, German, Polish, Hindi, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French and Japanese.
No Visual REST Client account is required. Requests connect to the endpoints you choose. Documents use your file provider's sync settings. Sending requests and signing in to API services require a network connection. Requires iOS 18 or later.

Latest updates
1.4.0
Version 1.4.0
• Keep extracted runtime variables when switching documents or closing and reopening a REST file during the same app session. Values remain separate for each document and environment.
• Ignore named environment templates such as .env.dev.example, .env.test.sample and .env.dev.template, including mixed-case suffixes.
• Save requests with unfinished header rows without adding stray colon lines or changing the request body.
1.3.0
Version 1.3.0
• Import native RapidAPI / Paw .paw documents, including folders, GraphQL, variables and bundled environments. Review unsupported features before saving.
• Keep assertion results with each response and its history. The collection runner explains unsuccessful HTTP statuses.
• Use array paths such as $.items.[0] in declarative tests.
• Use the app in English, German, Polish, Hindi, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French or Japanese.
1.2.0
1.2.0
- Import Thunder Client and Insomnia v5 YAML/v4 JSON collections with nested folders, inherited authentication, scoped variables, forms, GraphQL, and import warnings. Choose the Insomnia bundled environment to import.
- Import collections into the open document while retaining edits, review conflicting variables, and undo the import.
- Run all, a folder, or selected requests sequentially with runtime chaining, declarative assertions, cancellation, stop-on-failure, and a result summary.
- Navigate nested collection folders and rename or move whole folder trees.
- Enable or disable headers and query parameters without deleting their saved values.
- Edit URL-encoded bodies as repeated fields and safely encode variable values when sending.
- Configure HTTP/HTTPS proxy tunnels, custom certificate authorities, and host-scoped PKCS#12 client identities, with credentials stored in Keychain.
- See the sending environment and host in responses and history, including a notice for another environment.
- Review extraction failures and clear stale runtime values before chaining later requests.
- Explain unsupported CONNECT requests before sending and offer supported methods while retaining existing source.
