About WonderWords: Kids First Words
WonderWords is a talking word book app for toddlers and young children. Tap a picture and hear the word spoken aloud!
Turn the pages like a real picture book and learn 375 everyday words — animals, vehicles, dinosaurs, and more — with your eyes and ears.
Then review the words your child has learned with the fun Word Challenge quiz.
WHO IT'S FOR
- Parents who want to support their child's first words (ages 1-6)
- Kids who love picture books and word books
- Families raising bilingual kids with English and Japanese
- Anyone looking for a safe, ad-free app for children
FEATURES
* Tap to hear
Tap any picture and a clear, friendly voice reads the word aloud.
Tap again and again — words stick naturally through repetition.
* 8 books, 375 words
Animals / Vehicles / Foods / Fruits & Vegetables /
Sea Life / Insects / Dinosaurs / Everyday Things
The Animals book is completely free.
* Word Challenge quiz
Listen to the word, then pick the matching picture out of four.
Each round has 5 questions, and missed words can be reviewed
afterwards — so words stick naturally through play.
* English and Japanese
Switch the spoken language between English and Japanese.
The quiz can be played in either language, too.
Perfect as a first-words app and for bilingual learning.
* Customizable voice
Choose a girl's or boy's voice, and adjust the reading
speed and pitch to suit your child.
* Pages that really turn
A delightful page-curl design, just like a real picture book.
Page-turn sounds can be switched on or off.
* Ad-free and offline
No third-party ads at all. Once downloaded, the app works
without an internet connection — great for travel and outings.
* Parent-friendly by design
A parental gate appears before every purchase to prevent
accidental purchases by children.
PRICING
- The Animals book is free
- Buy books one at a time (one-time purchase, yours forever)
- Or unlock every book with the monthly "All books" plan
