Wordy - Language Learning downloads
Worldwide, per day, and installs to date. The band is open; the exact number is free with an account.
How this is calculated
Apple publishes no download counts. iPhone downloads come from chart positions and daily rating growth per country, calibrated on Google Play install counts; lifetime installs from ratings worldwide × installs per rating. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.
Active users
All platforms, worldwide. Free with an account.
Stickiness (DAU / MAU)
how many monthly users open it on a given day
How this is calculated
Monthly users come from lifetime installs across every store, fitted on monthly active user figures companies publish; daily users = monthly × the typical daily/monthly ratio for the category. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.

About Wordy - Language Learning
Learn a new language the way people actually speak it. Every word in Wordy arrives inside a real film or series scene — said by an actor, at full speed. Not a studio recording of someone reading slowly, and not a synthetic voice.
Now with two complete courses: English and Spanish.
HOW IT WORKS
You follow one clear path, a lesson at a time. Each lesson gives you a handful of new words, then drops them straight into a scene from a real movie or show, so you hear the word doing its job before you ever have to produce it.
Then you use it. Build the phrase from blocks, spell the word out, pick the meaning, hold a short conversation, and say the line out loud while the app listens and marks every word as you speak.
INSIDE EVERY LESSON
• Real film and series clips for each new word
• Speaking practice with live, word-by-word feedback
• Dialogues where you choose your side of the conversation
• Phrase and word building, from single letters to full sentences
• Review lessons that bring earlier words back right before you'd forget them
• A section exam to prove it stuck
WHY SCENES BEAT SENTENCES
Real speech is fast, it slurs, it skips words, and it leans on expressions no course ever lists. That is exactly why textbook audio feels easy and real conversation feels impossible. Wordy closes that gap from your very first lesson: you are listening to the real thing from day one, in doses short enough to actually follow.
BEYOND THE COURSE
• A library of thousands of clips to explore on your own
• Tap any word in any subtitle for an instant translation
• Save words and practise them on a spaced schedule, so they stay
• Vocabulary sorted by level, A1 through C2
• A daily streak that keeps the habit alive
LANGUAGES
Full courses in English and Spanish. Clips and vocabulary practice in 20+ more, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Greek and Ukrainian. The app itself speaks 26 languages, so you learn through the one you already know.
Whether you are starting from nothing or unsticking an intermediate plateau, a few minutes a day is enough to feel the difference.

Latest updates
3.0.5
Wordy is ready for iPhone Duo.
THE PLAYER, SIDE BY SIDE
Open iPhone Duo and the player splits in two: the scene and the line being spoken on the left, the whole subtitle script on the right. Tap any word on either side. One tap on the Duo button brings back the classic layout.
LESSONS THAT USE THE SPACE
On the big display, the clip sits next to the answers, so the video stays large while you choose. Home rows and movie posters now run all the way to the edge, and Wordy feels at home on the outer display too.
SUBTITLES IN YOUR LANGUAGE
On iOS 27, tap the translate button in the player and every subtitle line shows its translation underneath, made with Apple Intelligence on Private Cloud Compute. The lines on your screen come first, even when you skip ahead.
SMOOTHER EVERYWHERE
Subtitles scroll more smoothly, and a few layout glitches are fixed, including the video card in lessons on smaller iPhones.
Update and press play.
3.0.4
Wordy now works with Siri, Spotlight and Apple Intelligence.
JUST ASK
“Hey Siri, start my daily lesson in Wordy” opens your next lesson. “Practise words in Wordy” lets you name the words you want to practise. “Review my words in Wordy” brings back the words that are due. Siri understands these commands in all 26 languages supported by Wordy.
TRANSLATE WITHOUT OPENING THE APP
Say “Wordy, translate”, followed by the word. Siri gives you the translation and offers film scenes where people actually say it. The app opens only if you want to watch the scenes.
FIND THE SCENE
“Search Wordy for adiós” takes you to the clips where that word is spoken. Saved words now appear in Spotlight with their translation, just one tap away from practising.
SAVE WHAT YOU SEE
On iOS 27, Siri understands what is on your screen. Ask it to save the word in the subtitle you are reading or on the card in front of you.
UNDERSTAND ANY WORD
Tap a word while watching to access Explain, Examples and Grammar, generated with Apple Intelligence using Private Cloud Compute, so your data stays yours. Reverso, Glosbe and Wiktionary are also just one tap away.
LEARNS YOUR RHYTHM
Finish a lesson at your usual time and Siri Suggestions will start offering the next one when you typically study.
Siri features require iOS 26 or later. On-screen awareness, in-app search from Siri and the AI tabs require iOS 27.
Update, then just ask.
