About yamago: Hiking GPS & Maps
yamago is a hiking GPS app for Japan's mountains, built around your Apple Watch.
YOUR APPLE WATCH BECOMES YOUR TRAIL INSTRUMENT
Page through your wrist while you walk:
• Heart rate — see whether your pace suits your body
• Blood oxygen — check how it changes as you climb
• Altitude and temperature — how high you are, how cold it is
• Map and location — without taking out your iPhone
• Start and stop recording — even with gloves on
If your heart rate rises sharply, your Watch taps your wrist.
MAPS THAT WORK WITHOUT A SIGNAL
Download topographic maps from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan before you go. Your map and location keep showing even where there's no signal, on your iPhone and on your Apple Watch.
EVERY HIKE, RECORDED
Distance, elevation gain, moving time and breaks are recorded automatically. After your hike you get a route map and an elevation profile with your heart rate. Export your tracks as GPX, or import GPX files from other apps.
SAFER ON THE TRAIL
• A beam shows which way you're facing on the map
• Off-route warnings when you stray from your planned route
• A reminder to rest after two hours of walking without a break
• One tap opens the official bear sighting information for the prefecture you're in
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No timeline, no followers. Your location and records are stored only on your device and in your own iCloud, and are never sent to third parties.
yamago supports hiking decisions and record keeping. It is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosis or treatment.
Requires iPhone. The Apple Watch app works together with the iPhone app.
FREE FOR 30 DAYS, THEN PRO
Every feature is free for your first 30 days. From day 31, you need yamago PRO to start a new recording. You can always view your past records and export them as GPX, with or without PRO.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
