Yomu: Manga Reader & Webtoon

• Scan Comic: scan your own comics and books with your iPhone or iPad camera. Yomu takes each page by itself as you turn it, flattens the curve of an open book, removes the fingers holding the page and splits two-page spreads. Save the scan to Local Files, or share it as a PDF, CBZ or images. • Yomu asks if you would like to be told about new chapters after you finish a chapter of a Yomu Originals series you follow. • Searching Yomu Originals now also offers to continue the search in your own libraries when only one or two series match. • Read Aloud now has Natural Voices in English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Hindi. Premium readers get them downloaded automatically over Wi-Fi, and the Voice menu is one compact list: Personal Voice, Natural, More Languages and System Voices. • Read Aloud keeps playing when you switch to another app or lock the screen, with the cover, the chapter and play, pause, next and previous controls on the lock screen, in Control Centre and on headphones. • Follow Panels: while Read Aloud reads a comic, the reader zooms to each panel as it is spoken, including the panels with no text between balloons. Switch it on in the player or in Settings. • Read Aloud reads all-capital lettering as words instead of spelling it out, and says a balloon that crosses the join of two webtoon images once. • Watch: Premium readers can play a Yomu Originals chapter as a voiced, animated episode and use Share a Clip. • A series page shows its Preview first: a video when there is one, then the first pages of the first chapter, for almost every series, including your own files, folders and network shares. Page Previews on Series Pages in Settings turns the pages off. • On iPhone and iPad, drag in from the left edge to close the comic or novel reader. • Settings has a Show Yomu Originals switch. Turn it off to hide Yomu Originals everywhere in the app. • Yomu Originals pages that leave the app, in an exported CBZ or PDF or a shared page, carry a small Yomu Originals mark. • Translate an Area: mark part of a page from the Translation menu or the page's menu and it is translated as one balloon. Circle to Translate does the same when you draw a loop round the lettering, with a button of its own in the webtoon strip. • Translation reads balloons better: loosely set lines and Spanish questions and exclamations join into one sentence, and a balloon that comes back unchanged is asked again. • If you answer Not really when Yomu asks how it is going, a short feedback form lets you say why. No email is needed. • Novels in Scroll mode no longer jump back to the start of the chapter near its end. • Auto-scroll has a Stop After timer: pick 5 to 60 minutes or the end of the chapter and the scrolling stops by itself. • Hold to Scroll (in Settings, off by default): hold a finger on the Webtoon strip to scroll it, and slide up or down to change the speed. • Settings has a new Storage screen that shows what Yomu uses on your device, with a Cache Limit. • App Lock now locks you out for a while after five wrong PINs. • In two-page layouts, a wide page now stays on its own. • Trackers can update automatically (On, Ask or Off), and Sync from Tracker asks before it marks chapters as read. • The Library filters can show tracked or untracked series, or the series of one tracker.

• Reading Notes: write a note on a whole series from its page, or on one chapter from the reader's menu (Edit Note brings it back, and the chapter list shows an icon), and find them all in Settings. Notes stay when a series leaves your Library. Export every note as Markdown or CSV. • Export your downloaded chapters to a folder you choose, one CBZ or PDF per chapter: Export All Downloaded Chapters in a series page's download menu and in Downloads under Settings, or Export to Folder after you Select chapters. Part of Premium. • Tap Zones: every layout has its own small picture of its zones, in the reader's menu and in Settings. The guide fills each zone with its own colour and a clear label, and Show Tap Zones When Reading Starts shows it each time you begin reading. • Page Curl follows your Tap Zones layout, so a layout that turns no pages turns none in Page Curl either. • Sleep Timer says when it will end, a small countdown sits on the page, and the reader's menu no longer jumps back to the top while it runs. Cancelling clears its label and the menu's dot at once. • Read Aloud: a Hide Controls button on the player hides every control while reading goes on, in comics and novels. Tap the page to bring them back; it won't turn. • Top Readers, the ranking of Yomu Originals readers, shows its ladder to everyone, with a flag by each name. Joining is your choice, for readers 18 or older from a Join card; a profile menu changes your name or leaves. It shows your own place and updates after each chapter you finish. • On iPhone and iPad, a trophy at the top left of Yomu Originals opens Top Readers, and Share Page works on the first tap. • Reader menu: Zoom shows its state, and Auto explains how to use it. Translation shows Off, This Chapter or This Series, with how it translates and the language as their own rows. • Yomu Originals: Coming Soon series show preview pages and a zoomable cover, a series page shows its Preview first, and the tab refreshes when you open it. • Novels in Scroll mode keep your place when a chapter above is laid out again. • A new reader with an empty Library starts on Browse after the welcome tour, with the demo libraries listed first, and the empty Library has a button that leads there. • Cover titles and badges follow Cover Size. Home hides the goal card when Daily Goal is Off. Open in Browser and Select move to the top of a series page's menu. A series that closed the app when opened now opens. • When a chapter won't load until a check is passed in a browser, the reader's Web View always opens something or tells you why.

• Reading a Yomu Originals series follows it: the bell on its page turns on New Chapter Notifications, and new chapters show up in Updates even outside your Library. Follow Originals I Read in Settings switches it off. • Move many Library series from one catalogue to another at once from the Library menu; Yomu matches each title and keeps your reading progress. • Sync your whole Library's reading progress with your connected reading-list services in one go from the Library menu, never lowering it. Part of Premium. • A search that finds little offers to go on across all your catalogues, or in Search for Yomu Originals. • After a Yomu Originals series' last chapter, You're all caught up offers Add to Library, More Like This and Back to Originals. Popular Yomu Originals gain more chapters. • Shorts are now called Dramas, and each reader sees them in an order of their own. • For You, Yomu Originals, Popular and Latest on Search, and More Like This on series pages, suggest from what you read, on your device and in every language Yomu speaks. A tag on a series page opens Search. • Home's New Chapters says which chapter is new, and See All opens Updates, also a tab in Customise Tabs. Show Yomu Originals on Home in Settings hides or restores the Yomu Originals and Dramas shelves. A new reader's Home opens with Start Reading. • Coming Soon lists the Yomu Originals on their way; choose Remind Me to hear when one arrives. • Cover Size for the Library and every cover grid: Large, Medium or Small, with a preview. Choose Grid or List from the Library menu or in Settings. Option menus show what's chosen: Sort, View As and more. • A download button on a series page opens Download Unread and Download All. • A Reading Direction button on the reader's top bar shows your reading mode's new icon, and Page Transition gains Off. Customise Toolbar adds a Chapters button and reorders or hides the rest. • Horizontal Scroll no longer jumps and turns pages by your Tap Zones. Two-page spreads fit each page, with Spine Gap in Page Layout. Page Curl no longer flickers when the chapter changes. Paged readers on iPad in landscape go on to the next chapter. • A chapter you read to the end opens on its first page, and files that repeat chapter numbers, like main episodes and side stories, are read in file-list order. • Open MOBI, AZW and AZW3 comics like any other comic file. Local Files can Select several series and delete them together, and network folders open much faster. • Read Aloud picks up voices as you install them, lists Personal Voice first in its menu and no longer hangs on a translated page. • Novels: controls hide and show properly in Scroll mode, and late pictures no longer close the reader. • Translate To follows the app's language, and the Translation Language sheet opens large. • Larger text sizes keep their layout, controls are bigger and easier to hit, and Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency are respected. • Links to Yomu Originals series, chapters and episodes open in Yomu. Fixes Yomu closing on iPhone X and older iPhones.
