📲 WHAT IS GEORESQ

GeoResQ is a completely free geolocation and forwarding service for rescue requests dedicated to all mountain-goers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. The service is managed by the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, promoted by the Italian Alpine Club with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, allows you to determine your geographical position, track your excursions in real time, guarantees the archiving of own routes on the dedicated portal, and if necessary, the forwarding of alarms and requests for assistance through the GeoResQ operations centres, where the Alpine Rescue operators work shifts.

GeoResQ provides the georesq.it portal for managing your personal data, maps and routes, an APP to be installed on your smartphone that allows you to start the various functions of the service, and the operations centers for receiving and 'forwarding requests for help.

🔧 HOW IT WORKS

In order to use GeoResQ it is necessary to have a smartphone which must be equipped with a GPS antenna and a telephone SIM enabled for data traffic. A sufficient mirror of the sky visible for the GPS antenna and the data connection are essential prerequisites for a complete functioning of the system.

The installed app allows you to take advantage of three specific functions: Position, Track me and Alarm.

📌 Location feature

GeoResQ with the "Position" function is able to provide you with the geographical coordinates of the point where you are, their precision and the indication of the closest location shown by the cartography.

👣 Track Me feature

With the "Track me" function, GeoResQ stores your routes and sends them to the www.georesq.it portal where they are archived and can be reviewed later, from the comfort of your home, through your personal area. Your routes can be exported for viewing with other mapping programs and can be shared through social media.

🚨 Alarm function

After you have already called the NUE112 and when you are in a particularly critical situation, you need help and you have telephone coverage available for the data connection, there is the "Alarm" function which allows you to send the request immediately of help and of your position to the GeoResQ centers operating 24 hours a day. The operator will immediately try to contact you, verify your position and immediately forward your request for help to the competent bodies.

GeoResQ is operational only on the Italian territory, for alarms originating from places across the border, correct and timely forwarding to the rescue structures is not guaranteed.

The service is linked to the person, their smartphone and their telephone number.
