About 垃圾車 App Garbage Truck Taiwan
Is the garbage truck coming today, and when? Open the app and find out.
No more going down ten minutes early to hold your spot. The app shows where the truck is right now, how many minutes out, and when to leave - counting your walking time. Miss it and you wait a week.
Can this go in the garbage truck? Snap it and see
Pillows, old clothes, helmets, power banks - take a photo and AI narrows the answer to YOUR city's rules: garbage truck, recycling truck or food-waste bucket, and how to prepare it. Ask AI follow-ups (where to drop it off, when the truck comes) and set a reminder on the spot. Everything you snap joins your collection book. Snap is free with an hourly limit; Premium (paid subscription) raises the limit and removes the ads. AI results are suggestions only - follow your local sanitation team's announcements.
Just ask Siri - no need to open the app
- "Is there garbage truck today" - the time and the stop, read out loud with a map
- "Is there recycling today" - recycling often runs on different days to general waste
- "Nearby collection points" - the closest stop and its time, wherever you are
- On a typhoon or suspension day it leads with the stop-collection notice, so you do not make the trip for nothing
You can also put it on your Home Screen and get the answer in one tap.
Why people use it
- Just moved - find the nearest pickup point in an unfamiliar neighbourhood
- Renting or student housing - every address has its own schedule, and the app relocates you
- Busy weeknights - a reminder 5 to 60 minutes ahead, so one work day never costs you a week of trash
Key features
- Live tracking - where the truck actually is, refreshed every 60 seconds (every 30 seconds with Premium, paid subscription). Traffic and detours show on a map, not on a timetable
- On time or late, at a glance - how many minutes ahead or behind the truck is running today
- Time to leave - factors in your walking time and tells you when to head downstairs
- Smart alerts - 5 to 60 minutes ahead, with repeat options
- Dynamic Island and Lock Screen - iOS 16+ countdown and distance without unlocking
- Weekly schedule - general waste, recycling and food waste, a whole week at a glance
- Saved pickup points - home, work and your parents'; up to 10 free, unlimited with Premium (paid subscription)
- Typhoon and holiday notices - suspensions and changes pushed to you
- Achievement badges - they make taking the bins out a little more fun
Home Screen widgets
- Today's collection time without opening the app
- Colour-coded on time / delayed / done, in small, medium and large
Map features
- Nationwide pickup point map, filtered by distance, time or waste type

Latest updates
5.10.0
What's new
- I took it out: tap it when the truck comes to log the day and build your streak. It is on the stop card, the tracking screen, the Live Activity and the widget
- Recycling trucks: the map shows each recycling truck at its own position, and under the countdown ring you see about how many minutes until it arrives. Tap a plate to jump to that truck (some cities)
- Taichung: arrival times now come from the city's own record of stops reached, and tracking shows how many stops are done and how many are left. Stops collected at different times on different days (such as in Shalu) remind you at that day's time
- Tracking follows the one run your stop is on, keeps up with a truck that sets out early, and marks a truck whose position is out of date
- The Nearby list has three tabs: Pickup points, Garbage Trucks and Recycling Trucks. Opening a card keeps the tab bar and tucks away only the search bar
- Assistant photo answers: it first recognises what is in the photo, then tells you how to sort it under your county's rules. When an outside AI is needed, the consent screen names who handles it
- Smaller download, and the collection data no longer takes up iCloud backup space. garbagetruck.tw links open the app directly. Updated collection point data
About Garbage Truck
We watch the truck so you do not have to. Collection times for all 22 Taiwan counties, live tracking in New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung, arrival reminders and home screen widgets - so taking out the trash stops being something you have to remember.
We are constantly improving the app, dedicated to giving you the best experience. If it helps you, please rate us 5 stars or share it with a friend who needs it - every review helps one more person stop chasing their truck.

5.9.1
What's new
- Fixed stops are now marked on the map with a "P": the places where the truck parks and waits. The stop card shows the fixed-stop time window (some cities)
- The map can switch to fixed drop-off points, where you can bring household waste if you miss the truck, with opening hours (Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Chiayi City, Taitung City, Pingtung City)
- Assistant: ask about an address that is not in the data and a "Report a Collection Point" card appears under the answer, with the location and a suggested time already filled in from the stops nearby. Check it and send (some devices)
- Assistant suggestions: each one asks about something different (is there collection, what time, how to sort). Tap one to ask it
- On Home, "Assistant" and "Feature Wishlist" are now a single row each: tap the title to open, tap again to close. The arrow on the right starts a question directly
- Address search finds a road section written either way (二段 or 2段)
- Fixed: on some iPhones, tapping a stop on the map showed a different stop
- Performance and stability improvements
- Opening hours and time windows are for reference only. Follow your local sanitation team's announcements.

- In some cities, pickup points show the recycling truck that follows the garbage truck
- The Home Screen widget follows whichever saved stop collects next and marks suspended days
- Wrong pickup time? Correct it from the Home card. Want a feature? Make a wish and vote on Home
- Performance and stability improvements

About 垃圾車 App - Garbage Truck Map
Is the garbage truck coming today? What time? Open the app and know in seconds.
Garbage Truck Map pulls together today's pickup times and the pickup points near you — when the truck comes, where it is, and how many stops away it is from you. Get a reminder before you head out, so you're never left waiting at the curb. Pickup times work offline, too.
■ Can I throw this out? Point your camera at it
Pillows, duvets, old clothes, umbrellas, helmets, pans, power banks — the things nobody is sure about. Photograph it and the app tells you which category it is and which truck takes it, plus what to do first: caps and label rings come off, batteries are handed over separately, broken glass gets wrapped.
The answer depends on where you are, because the rules do. Chicken bones are raw food waste in Kaohsiung and general waste in Tainan and New Taipei. You get your county's answer, not a national average. Every scan is saved to your collection, and you can correct it yourself if it gets one wrong.
■ Live garbage truck tracking
Available in New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung. See the truck's live position, its route, and a countdown to your pickup point. Other cities have pickup time lookup, with live tracking rolling out to more regions.
■ Today's pickup at a glance
Open the app and see today's pickup times, the pickup points near you, the next collection day, and how many stops away the truck is.
■ Take-out-the-trash reminders
Set reminders for the pickup points you use, once or on a weekly schedule, and get notified before the truck arrives.
■ Home screen widgets
Three sizes — 2x2, 4x3 and 4x4 — showing the countdown and general / food waste / recycling categories without opening the app.
■ Search pickup points
Type an address or keyword to find pickup times and truck routes instantly, then navigate to the nearest point in one tap.
■ Nearest pickup points
Automatically sorted by distance and time, so taking out the trash is always on your way.
■ Dark mode & offline data
Light and dark themes, with core pickup point data available offline — handy in basements and areas with poor reception.
Privacy: your location is read only while you use the app — never tracked in the background, never shared.
More cities and features on the way.
With thanks to Taiwan's city and county governments for their open data.
