Hiyoko Anzan is a mental math (anzan) training app from Japan. Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, from single digits up to 13-digit addition.

- Practice: 50 levels for each operation. Solve 10 problems and collect up to 3 stars for accuracy and speed.
- Challenge: Score as many points as you can in 2 minutes, and compete in the weekly and all-time rankings.
- Flash: Memorize numbers that flash on the screen and add them up (levels 1 to 3).

In Challenge, your score earns one of 20 titles. Beat the title of your previous best for a Title Up, and see the titles you have collected for each operation in the title list. Titles you have not reached yet stay hidden.

Answers are checked automatically when you enter the last digit. Choose a calculator or phone keypad layout, or enter answers from the lowest digit, like on a soroban (abacus).
Review every problem after you play, watch a replay of your run, and move your records to a new device with a transfer code.

Chick Mental Arithmetic, which has been enjoyed since 2016, has been completely revamped for its 10th anniversary.

■ Two Ways to Play

・Practice: Levels 1-50 for each of the four basic arithmetic operations. Solve 10 problems and collect up to 3 stars based on accuracy and speed. There's no time limit, so even those who struggle with mental arithmetic can practice at their own pace. The app will also tell you which level you should try next.

・Challenge: A calculation game where you try to see how many points you can get in 2 minutes. The more digits a problem has, and the faster you solve it, the higher your score.

■ Aim for a Higher Title
In the Challenge, you can earn one of 20 titles based on your score. From the lowest "Egg Class" to above "Human Calculator Class," you'll earn a "Title Up!" when you surpass your previous highest score title.

You can view your collected titles in the "Title List" for each of the four arithmetic operations. You can also see how many points you need to reach the next title. Titles you haven't received yet will be displayed as "???," making them a surprise until you get them.

■ National Ranking
Your Challenge scores will be included in the "Overall" and "This Week's" national rankings for each of the four arithmetic operations. This week's ranking closes at 4 AM every Monday. You can also see last week's ranking. You can choose the name that appears in the ranking.

■ Smooth Input
The answer is automatically checked once you've entered the number of digits in your answer. No confirmation button is needed.

The numeric keypad layout can be selected from a calculator-style or telephone-style layout. You can also enter numbers from the lowest digit, like an abacus.

■ Review to Improve Calculation Skills
• Answer List: Review each problem, including the equation, answer, and time taken.
• Playback: Watch your own gameplay again.
• Records: Check your star rating per level, shortest time, and highest score in challenges.
