About CreaseCam
Keep the moment. See the play.
CreaseCam turns an iPad or iPhone behind the net into a goalie replay camera. It keeps a rolling video buffer while the app is open. After a save, goal or play worth reviewing, tap Save, Goal or Mark. Your clip includes the action before the tap, plus the seconds after it.
Built by Defiance Goalie Academy for goalies, coaches and hockey families.
CAPTURE FROM THE BENCH OR STANDS
Use the camera's big buttons, an iPhone remote or the Apple Watch companion. Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi connect your devices at the rink without internet. An internet relay can provide another route when available. Remote taps keep their original time when a connection briefly drops, within the camera's retained buffer.
ONE SESSION, TWO CAMERAS
Start with one camera, then add another by scanning its pairing QR code directly from the second camera. Each camera keeps its own recording settings. Save, Goal or Mark on a paired remote captures every camera in the shared session, without choosing a camera each time. Finish on either camera or a paired remote finishes the session across the group.
Browse either camera’s replays from the remote. Clips collect on the primary camera, initially the first camera you set up. When a direct video route is unavailable, another device in the group can relay the transfer. Devices show their camera or remote role and connection status. Video transfers require Wi-Fi or internet; Bluetooth carries controls, not video. Keep devices connected until pending transfers finish. Update every device for camera group features.
REVIEW THE PLAY
- Browse saves, goals and marked plays by game, practice or lesson.
- Watch in slow motion and step through the action frame by frame.
- Draw on video with your finger or Apple Pencil.
- Add shooting lines and a crease overlay aligned to the rink marks.
- Record voice-over coaching reviews.
- Compare two clips side by side, trim clips and build highlight reels.
- Star key moments and add coaching tags.
- Mark shot locations on the larger Goal screen and correct Save, Goal or Mark from the remote.
MISSED A TAP?
Tap Missed it? on your phone to go back through either camera’s retained footage, trim the play and save it. Recovery needs a supported local Wi-Fi connection and cannot recover overwritten footage or recording gaps.
TRACK YOUR GOALIES
Keep a goalie roster and session history. See saves, shots, goals against and save percentage based on the moments you mark. Overall numbers count games; practices keep their own. Add separate game totals and seasons to follow goalie progress without mistaking captured clips for a complete game. Prepare a game report with selected video files for a coach, using Files, AirDrop or your preferred sharing app. No CreaseCam account required. Coaching tags help you plan the next practice.

Latest updates
1.4
CreaseCam 1.4 brings two cameras together, from the first pairing to the last replay, and makes it easier to save the play you almost missed.
TWO CAMERAS, ONE TAP
• Pair by scanning the camera's QR code, or type its code. Add a second camera by scanning the first camera's QR code. No remote needed.
• One tap on your phone, Apple Watch, Lock Screen or either camera saves the play on both cameras. Stats count each play once.
• Undo removes the whole play from every camera.
• Finish on any camera or phone finishes the whole group, even with Wi-Fi off. Either camera can start the next session.
• Each camera keeps its own recording settings.
ALL YOUR CLIPS IN ONE PLACE
• The first camera is the primary camera and collects the clips. The other camera's clips move to it on their own, with progress and time left.
• Transfers are faster, pick up where they stopped and step aside during a game so taps stay quick.
• When the cameras can't reach each other on Wi-Fi, clips go through a phone or over the internet.
• The primary camera's Library shows every clip, with thumbnails from both cameras. Browse replays from either camera on your phone.
ON YOUR PHONE
• Missed it? Go back through the last 10 minutes of either camera and save the play nobody tapped.
• After a goal, a full Goal screen shows the play by itself while you mark the net spot and add coaching tags.
• Change a replay between Save, Goal and Mark.
• Lock Screen buttons work without unlocking, and period changes confirm faster.
• Your phone offers Enhanced Wi-Fi for each camera it connects to.
• Clear notices for each camera, and a Leave dialog that says exactly what changes.
STATS, SHARING AND DEVICES
• A goalie's overall saves, goals against and save percentage count games only. Practices keep their own numbers.
• Video links now work for reels with more than 32 clips.
• New layouts for iPhone Duo: cover screen, opened and half open.
• The camera always stays landscape and the remote always stays portrait, on iPad too.
• Fixes for removing a disconnected camera, replay thumbnails, and pairing, reconnecting and clip transfers.
Update every camera and phone to 1.4 to use the camera group. Keep the camera app open while recording. Video moves over Wi-Fi or the internet; Bluetooth carries taps and controls, not video.
