New in 1.4.0 • 3D terrain: open any spot in 3D on USGS elevation and turn, tilt and zoom to read ridges, saddles, draws and benches. • Sharper ground where it exists: the 3D view uses USGS 1-meter lidar when the whole area has it, and the standard USGS 3DEP elevation everywhere else. The readout shows which source and year you're seeing. • North arrow in 3D: always shows which way north is. Tap it to face north again. • Share or save a picture of the 3D view, with the north arrow and data credits. • Saved 3D views: save a view and reopen it later, even with no signal. • Smarter crossings: uses USGS mapped streams when they answer, otherwise estimates streams from the terrain. The map labels which one you're seeing. • Better with weak signal: wind and crossings keep the last good data, mark it as older, and retry on their own when the connection comes back. • Works on iPhone and iPad.

The 6-hour wind timeline shows speed in mph or km/h. Open in iTAK or TAKAware sends the wind, scent, and sound projection only. Crossings show a loading percentage. Green is likely, yellow is maybe, and red is unlikely. Tap one for a plain explanation, and keep a stand note with an optional photo on this iPhone. Sharing uses the share sheet only. Wind units, the basemap, and the layer toggles stay on the phone when the app is force-quit.
