About DepthTag
DepthTag turns your iPhone Pro into a precise measuring tool. Point the camera at anything, tap, and it reads the exact distance using the LiDAR scanner. No tape measure, no guessing.
REQUIRES A LiDAR SCANNER
DepthTag needs the LiDAR sensor found on iPhone 12 Pro, 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, 16 Pro, and later Pro and Pro Max models. It does not work on non-Pro iPhones.

Three things this release is about.
• Inches in fractions. DepthTag used to say 7' 3.4". It now says 7' 3 5/16", the way a tape measure reads. Choose 1/8, 1/16 or 1/32 in Settings, or keep decimal if you prefer it.
• A photo you can send. The new shutter button captures what the camera sees with your measurements drawn on it — the number, the points, the date — ready to share or save to Photos. Measuring a doorway is only useful if you can tell somebody how wide it is.
• Numbers you can trust. DepthTag now reads the LiDAR sensor's own confidence in every reading, not just how far away it is. A measurement taken in poor light or on a shiny surface is marked as such, and the app tells you when tracking is struggling instead of quietly showing a number that is wrong.
Also in this release: your saved measurements are now protected against ever being lost to an update, and there is a "Rate DepthTag" link in Settings.
If DepthTag is earning its keep, it may ask you once for a rating, never while you are measuring. "Don't ask again" means it.
