About DreamCue: Lucid Dream Trainer
A lucid dream is a dream in which you realize you're dreaming. It's a skill you can learn, and it usually takes a few weeks of regular practice. DreamCue spreads that practice across four parts of the day:
• Daytime: reality checks. Reminders ask “Am I dreaming?” and suggest a quick test, like reading text twice or looking at your hands. On Apple Watch they arrive as a gentle tap.
• Before bed: a six-minute guided practice. A soft sound plays while you relax and ask yourself the question, so the sound becomes linked to it. The method is called targeted lucidity reactivation (TLR). You can also do a cue-free memory rehearsal (MILD).
• Late at night: the same sound plays softly in the second half of the night, when REM sleep is more likely. The timing is an estimate based on your sleep times; DreamCue cannot detect REM sleep or dreams.
• Morning: write down what you remember. One word or one image counts. The journal shows your average recall score and the share of nights with a lucid dream.
Sleep comes first
Before anything else, you answer a short safety check. If any item applies, such as severe insomnia or severe nightmares, DreamCue switches to journal-only mode. After poor nights or cue-related wakings, it lowers or pauses cues on its own.
Privacy
DreamCue has no account, ads, or third-party analytics, and it never sends your data to a server. Dream notes stay on your device, and you can export or delete them at any time. Apple Health is optional: with your permission, DreamCue reads the sleep stages your Apple Watch recorded and uses them to tune future cue timing.
Also included
• An Apple Watch app that plays cues as haptics
• Widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch
• A short guide to lucid dreaming
• An optional research mode that randomizes nights so you can compare conditions yourself (N-of-1)
Please note
DreamCue is a practice tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose sleep disorders and cannot guarantee lucid dreams. Some nights you will not remember anything, and that is normal. On iPhone, late-night cues are notifications, so silent mode or a Focus can mute them. If nightmares, poor sleep, or confusion between dreams and waking life bother you, stop and talk to a health professional.
