Fire Alarm System Simulator

Fire Alarm Studio is a comprehensive training and reference app built for fire alarm technicians, NICET certification candidates, and fire protection engineers. Version 2.0 adds two major new features specifically designed for professional development and field use.
NEW — NICET EXAM PREP
Practice for your NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification with 60 questions written to the NICET Level I and Level II competency framework. Questions span six core areas: Fire Science, Detection Systems, Signaling Systems, Control Panels, Codes and Standards, and Testing and Inspection. Choose Quick Practice (20 random questions), Full Exam (60 questions with a 90-minute countdown timer), or drill by topic. Every question includes a detailed explanation with the relevant NFPA 72 code reference. Your score history is saved automatically so you can track progress over time.
NEW — FIELD CALCULATORS
Four real-time engineering calculators built for on-site use. NAC Voltage Drop calculates end-of-line voltage and flags NFPA 72 Section 10.14.1 compliance. Battery Capacity Sizing applies the required 20 percent derating per Section 10.6.7 and recommends the correct battery size. Detector Spacing determines the number of smoke or heat detectors required for a room based on ceiling height and NFPA 72 Table 17.6.3 limits. Wire Gauge Selection shows voltage drop and pass/fail status for all common AWG sizes simultaneously. Every calculator displays the governing NFPA 72 code section alongside the result.
ILLUSTRATED GALLERY — 63 DIAGRAMS
Browse 63 professional fire alarm system diagrams across eight categories: System Architecture, Wiring Topologies, Device Types, Control Panels, Code and Standards, Installation Details, Testing Procedures, and Signal Flow. Pinch to zoom up to 6x and swipe between illustrations. A thumbnail strip lets you jump directly to any diagram.
STRUCTURED CURRICULUM
Eight learning modules covering fire science fundamentals, detection technology, initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, suppression interfaces, high-rise systems, and mass notification. Each module includes multiple lessons with explanations, diagrams, and key takeaways.
INTERACTIVE LAB SIMULATIONS
Practice reading initiating device circuits, understanding Class A and Class B wiring, and tracing alarm signal flow through a panel without being on a live system.
GUIDED PROJECTS
Step-by-step field projects including basic system installation, detector placement verification, battery load calculations, and pull station testing procedures.
QUICK REFERENCE LIBRARY
Searchable tables for NFPA 72 detector spacing, battery sizing, conductor requirements, and alarm notification thresholds. Formatted for fast lookup in the field.
INSTALLATION GUIDE
A complete walkthrough of the inspection and testing workflow from pre-installation checks through final acceptance testing, organized by NFPA 72 chapter.
