About Homemade Breathing
Breathe with a wave.
A line rises as you breathe in, runs flat while you hold and falls as you breathe out. A girl at the top of the screen breathes along with you, and a soft sound, a voice or a firm tap marks every turn, so you can follow with your eyes, your ears or the phone in your pocket.
SIX TECHNIQUES, THREE LEVELS
• Coherent: six breaths a minute, for everyday practice.
• Calm: a longer breath out to settle, with no holds.
• Sigh: two breaths in and one long breath out, for a stressful moment.
• Relaxing 4-7-8: a long hold and a longer breath out, for winding down at night.
• Box: four equal sides, for composure before something demanding.
• Energise: a long breath in and a brisk breath out, for a lift.
Each one comes in Gentle, Standard and Deep, or set your own seconds in, out and holding.
KNOW WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE
A built-in guide explains what each rhythm is for, how it works and what research has and hasn't shown, with plain advice on keeping it gentle.
EXTRA FOCUS
Guide a small ball along the wave with two buttons. Keeping it inside the moving ring gives your hands and eyes a quiet task, so your attention stays on the breath. Your longest streaks earn gold, silver and bronze.
MADE TO FIT YOUR DAY
• A wood-block sound at the turning points, a soft voice (in English) that says "Breathe in", "Hold" and "Breathe out", and strong haptics.
• Optional ambient music that never repeats itself.
• With a sound on, a session carries on with the screen locked, with a timer and Pause and Finish buttons on the Lock Screen.
• A session timer from one to thirty minutes, and up to five daily reminders.
• Your breathing time by day, week, month and year.
• Eleven languages, switchable on the spot.
Breathing exercises are a wellbeing practice, not a medical treatment. If you feel dizzy or short of breath, stop and breathe normally.
• No ads. Ever.
• Pay once, own it.
• No account.
• Your data stays yours.
• No internet needed.
