About Rock Goblin Jr.: Kids Learning
Meet Professor Pebble, a friendly goblin teacher whose school, Goblin Academy, sits deep inside a cave. Across 51 short lessons, she teaches math, shapes, colors and music the way good teachers do: show first, do one together, then let your child try alone. Questions are asked with pictures and sounds, so kids who can't read yet can play right along.
WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNS
• Math, 24 lessons: counting to 10, ten frames, teen numbers, making 10, adding and subtracting within 20, missing numbers, skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s, and times tables up to 10 × 10.
• Shapes, 9 lessons: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, hexagon, star and heart; a shape is still the same shape when it turns or grows; counting corners and sides; sorting; building shapes and taking them apart; shape patterns; and 3D shapes like the cube, cone and prism.
• Colors, 8 lessons: 11 color names, sorting by color, mixing colors, light and dark, color patterns, and patterns that combine color and shape.
• Music, 10 lessons: high and low, fast and slow, long and short, loud and soft, same or different, notes going up or down, which instrument is playing, copying a beat, copying a tune, and counting beats.
MAKE MUSIC IN THE CRYSTAL CAVE
Nothing to win and nothing to get wrong, just music to play:
• Tap the glowing crystals, record a tune and hear it played back.
• On the song maker, tap crystals onto the song grid and hear your song play round and round. Add drums, make it longer, and pick a sound and a speed.
• Up to 6 songs and recordings stay on the shelf.
• Every cave hides a singing crystal. Find it, and that cave's song opens in the song book: 11 songs to play and change.
GENTLE BY DESIGN
• Every lesson works the same way: Professor Pebble shows how, does one with your child, then says "Your turn!"
• A wrong tap is never a dead end. The question stays put and a hint opens. More help comes one step at a time: "Show me", then "A trick", then "Watch me".
• No timers, no lives to lose.
• Facts your child finds tricky come back on later days. Facts they already know come back less often.
• Already knows a lesson? "Show what you know" lets your child skip ahead.
• Every lesson has a sticker to earn, 51 in all.
HEAR IT, SEE IT
• Professor Pebble talks to your child out loud in English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Arabic.
• With "Show Words" on, her words appear in a speech bubble and each one lights up as she says it.
• In Japanese, the lessons run on words and pictures, without her voice.
• Grown-ups can turn her voice or the words off.
FOR GROWN-UPS
Behind a quick math question that keeps little hands out:
• Learning Progress: where your child is in every lesson, the facts they find trickiest, and when they last practiced.
• Choose how much of each subject the Academy offers, and set the Math Level.
• Switch between 7 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified) and Arabic.

Sound fix for Goblin Academy's 51 lessons: after a visit to the Music hall, lessons could go silent until the app was restarted. Professor Pebble's voice and every lesson sound now keep playing.
Lesson sounds also play now when the iPhone's silent switch is on, just like the game's music.
