- 📦TrafficCamNZ updated to version 1.31.0● Support for iPhone Duo - TrafficCamNZ now fills both iPhone Duo displays, edge to edge, and adjusts as you fold and unfold.
● Unfold for more cameras - on the big screen choose 1, 4 or 16 cameras at once, just like iPad. Fold it closed and it switches back to one camera at a time; unfold again and your choice comes back.
● Up to 32 cameras on the big screen - the unfolded iPhone Duo shows up to 32 featured cameras (19 on iPhone), the same as iPad. The new limit applies from the next refresh.
● Library side by side - on the unfolded iPhone Duo the Library shows your camera list and the selected camera's details side by side, like iPad. On iPhone (and the closed Duo) it works as before.
● What's New - redesigned to suit every screen: the card is a comfortable reading width and sits in the middle of the screen, the "Version • What's New" heading now shows, and a stray line across the top has gone.
● Welcome screen - text is lined up properly and no longer cut off at the top on smaller screens, and the wording no longer says the Get Started button is "below" it.
● Library - tapping a camera on iPhone now opens it once (it could open twice).… more - 📈TrafficCamNZ entered the top 100Top Paid · Navigation · CA

- 📦TrafficCamNZ updated to version 1.30.2● What's New - the cards now appear the same way up as your screen. On an iPad held sideways they were shown in portrait, which was confusing.
● New camera card on the map - tap a camera pin to see its latest image in a card, just like road signs. The image follows your Keep Camera Proportions setting. Tap Full Screen (or the image) to see it full screen, then Done to go back to the card. Streaming cameras show Watch Live. No more hunting for the small (i) button.
● Full screen follows Keep Camera Proportions - camera images opened full screen (from the main screen or the map) now match your setting. Pinch to zoom still works.… more - 📈TrafficCamNZ charting in a new countryUnited States
- 📦TrafficCamNZ updated to version 1.30.1● Road signs on the map - each sign now shows its own ID and name (previously every sign showed the details of a nearby journey), and signs with long place names no longer cause the app to stop responding.
● New map controls - Map / Satellite / Hybrid and the Cameras and Signs buttons now sit together in a panel at the bottom of the map. Cameras (orange) and Signs (blue) match their map pins and turn grey when switched off.
● New road sign view - tap a sign on the map to see it as it appears on the road: amber lettering on a black sign, with when the message last changed. It opens as a card you can pull up for more room.
● Road signs keep updating after a lost connection - previously one failed request stopped signs updating as you moved.
● Map - turning Signs off no longer makes the camera pins flicker and reload each time the map moves, and the location permission request now appears when the map first opens.
● Camera errors - a camera that times out or can't be found now shows the connection error (wifi) icon instead of the general warning, and the error icon is now white so it is easy to see.
● Duplicate cameras - when a camera provider has moved to a secure (https) address, the old http copy is removed when the camera list is updated. If the old copy was featured, the new one takes its place in your featured list.
● Tidier camera list for new users - duplicate cameras removed from the built-in list.
● What's New - the coloured circle behind each card's icon now shows.
● Launch screen - now fits every iPhone and iPad screen.… more - 📦TrafficCamNZ: first update in 122 days
- 📦TrafficCamNZ updated to version 1.30.0● Built for iOS 27 - updated for the latest version of iOS and the newest iPhone and iPad models. Requires iOS 17 or later.
● Faster and smoother - a rebuilt image engine makes swiping between cameras smooth again. Camera images now use over 90% less memory, each camera downloads just once per refresh, and connections are reused, so refreshes finish sooner and use less mobile data and battery.
● Sharper camera images - traffic cameras are often low quality, so every image is now cleaned up and sharpened to suit your screen: less blocky noise, crisper lane markings, and clearer signs and brake lights.
● New setting: Keep Camera Proportions - camera images still fill the screen by default. If you prefer to see each camera at its true shape, turn on Keep Camera Proportions in Settings › Display & Playback.
● Help that works - the Help button (life ring) now shows its guide again, correctly lined up with each button on iPhone and iPad, with updated tips: swipe for the next camera, double-tap for full screen, two-finger tap to refresh one camera, and long-press to see why a camera isn't loading.
● New What's New button - the sparkles button (top right) shows what's new in each version, and What's New now appears automatically the first time you open the app after an update.
● iPad - the Settings window now opens from the Settings button.
● Stability and performance improvements
- Smoother start-up: existing users no longer briefly see the Welcome screen after updating
- Much lower memory use when cameras are offline or there is no network connection
- General reliability improvements and updates for the latest iOS… more - 📈TrafficCamNZ charting in a new countryAustralia

Review momentum
ⓘ How we measure thisReview momentum (0-100) blends how fast the app collects ratings compared with other apps in its category (60%), whether that pace is speeding up (25%) and what recent raters give it (15%; recent stars well below lifetime pull it down). Ratings counts are read daily. A jump usually means a launch, a feature, ads or a new review prompt.
About TrafficCamNZ
Images you choose as "Featured" are downloaded and setup side by side so that you can swipe across the screen to view multiple images quickly.
TrafficCamNZ works over the cellular network though it works best with WiFi because, usually, it's faster!
TrafficCamNZ can also use the GPS features in your device to show cameras around you. Try the predictive mode that predicts where you are travelling to display the next cameras (with known GPS coordinates) on your journey.
TrafficCamNZ now contains details of more than 7000 cameras from around the world. You choose which cameras are the "featured" ones. Featured cameras are easily identified in the Library; they have a Green dot next to them.
Managing your own personal list of cameras is easy too. This can be done in two ways:
1. Enter a new camera directly on the iPhone and key in the entire URL (http://mywebsite/image.jpg) or
2. Create your own XML file for importing into the application. Instructions on how to do this are available at the support web site or by contacting the developer.
Usage Notes:
* Pictures are displayed in the order they are received unless you set the image sequence number, you can then order the images how you want them
* Check your network usage when downloading over the cellular network
* Images are not cached, if you receive an image that isn't right (i.e. daylight when you know it is night time, that camera may not be functioning)
* Sometimes the traffic camera pictures are not up-to-date. You may see night pictures when it is supposed to be daylight or perhaps pictures don't change. TrafficCamNZ has no control over that
* You receive updates to the camera list automatically; a check is performed every 7 days when the application starts
* Tap the image on the main window to display it full screen
Features:
* Easily flick through the loaded images with your finger - this was the original idea behind the application
* Load your own web images
* Free version available, loads up to 3 images
* Full version available, loads up to 19 images on iPhone and 32 images on iPad
* Allows XML import of camera list
* Camera list (XML Import file) can be updated from a web site - doesn't require the release of a new application
* No advertising
Many great comments from around the world have been made about TrafficCamNZ:
* Great little app, what a time saver. I would often leave work to find the traffic all congested, now I can check before I leave and even if it gets busy I can check on the road and take a different route. I have set my own cameras and can quickly check what's what. A real must for driving commuters, couriers or even taxi's.
* This app works very well and is awesome if you travel a lot. Going on a road trip for work or vacation? Google the cameras for your cities, insert the URL into the app, and cameras appear
