5.2.1
SmartWorkout 5.2 is here!
Highlights:
SmartWorkout on Apple Watch
Log your workout from your wrist. On the watch, start a workout from your plan, from a template or an empty one, enter the weight and reps, tick off your sets and feel a tap on your wrist when your rest is over. The watch measures your heart rate and the calories you burn, and you'll see both in Logs after the workout. During the workout it works without your phone and syncs when the phone is nearby again. Open SmartWorkout on your Apple Watch to start. Requires watchOS 10 or later.
New Workout Tab
The top of the Workout tab now shows what you usually start with: the next day of your plan, the next template in your rotation, or an empty workout and your latest workouts to repeat. Empty sections are gone, and a summary of your week sits below. Plans opens with your own plans, with the SmartWorkout Library below them. A new plan, a new template and the 1RM test are under the "+" in the header.
New Look for Templates and Plan Days
Templates and the training days of your plans now show their exercises as thumbnails. You can show the exercises' names with the muscle groups they train instead, separately for templates and plan days: Profile > Settings > Logs Settings.
Your Plan Next to Your Workout
Open a day of your plan after training to see how it went: every set sits next to its target from the plan. Arrows mark reps above or below the planned range, and skipped or extra sets, a swapped exercise and a changed rest or tempo are marked too. In a workout's details, tap the plan's name to open its plan day.
Exercise Group Names
Linked exercises are no longer always a "superset". Two exercises for different muscles are a superset, for the same muscle a compound set. Three for one muscle make a tri-set, four or more a giant set, and three or more for different muscles a circuit. The name updates as you add or swap exercises, and you start a new group with "Add Exercise Group".
Free Intervals and Muscle Group Filter
Interval exercises now work without a subscription, on the watch too. In the exercise list you can filter by muscle group for free: turn on “Use Muscle Group Filter” in the list's filters.
A Drop Set Counts as One Set
In your weekly sets and volume zones a whole drop set now counts as one set, since there is no rest between the drops. If you do drop sets, your weekly sets may be a little lower than before. Next to RIR, RPE, tempo and exercise group names you will also find “Learn More” with an explanation on our website.
