See what it looks like before you go. Under “Spot Info” you'll now find photos of the spot, its entry points and its parking. Share your own with “+ Photo”. Tap “Helpful” and the best ones move to the front. If you're in a photo yourself, report it with “I am in the photo”.
Search spots and places on the heatmap
On the Boardies Heatmap, tap the magnifier and type a spot or place. The map jumps right there.
Open the heatmap big and move it freely
Tap the arrow at the top left to open the heatmap big. The map now stays where you move it. Press and hold a spot card and the map now zooms straight to that spot.
The heatmap now shows where the wind is on
We've changed the dots on the heatmap. A pulsing dot now means: the wind is on there right now, reported by Boardies at the spot. Until now, pulsing only meant someone was checked in there.
More Boardies visible at the spot
The number of Boardies at a spot now also counts everyone who reports from there that the wind is on. Until now it only counted who had checked in.
One lake, one card
If several of your spots are on the same lake, the home screen now shows them in one card, with the best spot on top. Open the others with “more spots”. Rather see every spot on its own? Switch off “Group spots on the same lake” in the settings.
Driving time on every card
Every spot card now shows roughly how long your drive there takes. For that the app needs your location.
See right away what's still on today
Once a spot's window for today is over, its card shrinks and shows “OVER”. So you see at a glance which spots still work today.
Tips for the new heatmap
New on the map: a short tip shows you the search for spots, places and lakes, the big map, and pressing and holding a card.
Also fixed
• Wrong spot when tapping (iPhone): Tapping a spot pin on the map sometimes opened the spot next to it. Now exactly the spot you tap opens.
• Red pins on the heatmap (Android): Instead of the Boardiction dots, red standard pins sometimes showed up. That's fixed.
• Large text: If you set a large text size in your system settings, you saw cut-off times and values in the spot forecast, like “11:0”, and a cut-off wind range on the cards. Now everything shows in full.

Hitting the spot later? At check-in, tap “Coming later” and pick your time. The others see “from 15:00” next to your name, and the app reminds you an hour before. It works on the spot card and in a spot's forecast, and for a pre-check-in on the coming days too.
Spot Info, all new
Tap a spot and you'll find the “Spot Info” tab at the top. There you see entry points, parking, fees and opening hours at a glance, and the map shows you where your entry point is. If a detail is missing, tap “Help out” and we'll ask you one question at a time.
Spot Chat with a new look
At the top you see how many Boardies are at the spot right now, and messages from the BOARDICTION Team stand out straight away. Photos open like in WhatsApp, and you can react with any emoji. Tap a profile picture to see it big, tap a reaction to see who reacted.
Big map in the spot forecast
Tap a spot to see its forecast. One tap on the map now makes it big. The “Summary” link takes you to the AI summary.
Add Spot, now easier
We made “Add Spot” clearer for you: you see right away on the map which spot you picked, and the map stays in view while you look at the info.

Wind's on – live from the spot
Anyone at the spot can report with one tap whether the wind is on right now. You see it straight away at the spot, and a windsock flies on the home screen. And if you're at the spot yourself, the card asks you: Is it on right now?
Spots near you
Not living near Munich? The app now shows you the spots around you. If there's none there yet, you'll see lakes you can add yourself.
The best session on top
The spot with the best rating is now on top. With the same rating, the spot where the wind kicks in earlier comes first.
Your forecast, your wind
Set in your profile which wind you like best, how much rain you don't mind and whether you like waves. Plus weight and gear. The rating takes all of it into account.
Setting an entry point, easier
The pin stays in the middle and you move the map underneath it. That way your finger no longer covers the spot you're picking.

Take a screenshot or share an image with Boardiction. Once you send it, it goes straight to the team.
Reminder for your pre-check-in
