To avoid renewal, you must turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before your subscription ends which you can do by turning off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings.
Note: Dorsal app can track your location while in the background, so you can continue to use your iPhone for other tasks (Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life).
