About YumPal: Visual Food Journal
Three months ago you had the best ramen of your life at a tiny shop on a side street. You took a photo. It's somewhere in your camera roll — buried under 4,000 other pictures. You can't remember the restaurant name or even which neighborhood it was in. That meal is gone.
YumPal makes sure that never happens again.
FIND EVERY MEAL IN YOUR CAMERA ROLL
Scan Photos looks through your photo library right on your iPhone and finds the food photos you've already taken. Years of meals come back in one place, each on the day and at the place it happened. Your photos never leave your device.
A SCRAPBOOK PAGE FOR EVERY DAY
Your home is a scrapbook: every day becomes a page of food stickers, and "On this day" brings back what you ate a year ago.
EVERY MEAL, A POLAROID
Open any meal and it appears as a polaroid with its name, date and place. Pin your favorites to the Yum Wall, a free-form board you can arrange and share.
WIDGETS & APPLE WATCH
The Food Calendar widget puts your month of meals on your Home Screen, and the memory widget brings back a favorite dish. On Apple Watch, see today's meals and your streak at a glance.
A FOOD JOURNAL THAT THINKS IN PHOTOS
YumPal is a visual food journal — a photo-first keepsake for people who love food. Snap a photo of a meal worth remembering, and it becomes part of your personal Timeline of Tastes — organized by date, tagged by occasion, pinned to the place where you ate it.
Beautiful photos of the meals you want to remember. That's it.
REMEMBER THE STORY
Every meal worth keeping has a story — who you were with, where you sat, what you talked about, how it tasted. YumPal captures that story in a single photo, a few tags, and a short note. Over time, you build a personal album of the meals that mattered.
EFFORTLESS TO CAPTURE
YumPal reads the date and GPS already saved in your photos, so each memory lands on the right day and place on its own. Add a single shot or bring in hundreds at once — all arranged by date and location. Add mood tags, custom labels, and a short note to set the scene.
FOOD STICKERS & PHOTO CUTOUTS
Turn your food photos into playful stickers and cutouts. On-device AI removes backgrounds, creating fun stickers you can share with friends in Messages or save to your collection. Cut out that perfect latte art or a beautifully plated dish — your meals become shareable art.
SURPRISE ME
Can't decide what to revisit? Tap once and YumPal brings back a past favorite you'd forgotten about — a fun way to rediscover your food memories.
TIMELINE OF TASTES
Scroll through your food memories as a beautiful visual timeline. Each meal is a photo card with date, location, tags, and notes. Swipe back through the months and relive the highlights — seasonal favorites, cozy go-to dishes, or the trip where every dinner was unforgettable.
CALENDAR POSTER & FOOD COLOR CARDS
Turn your food memories into visual art. The Calendar Poster generates a monthly photo grid for sharing or printing. Food Color Car

Latest updates
4.0
YumPal 4.0 is a full redesign: your meals now fill a scrapbook.
• New home: a week strip, today's meal card, and every past day laid out as a collage page — tilted stickers, a mood stamp and a location postmark. Now and then, a "This day last year" card pops up too.
• Polaroid details: open any meal and the original photo sits in a polaroid frame, over a backdrop taken from the food's own colours.
• Apple Watch: raise your wrist to see what you ate today, with complications for your watch face.
• New widgets: Today, Stickers, Food Calendar and Food Memory (with On This Day) — on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
• Search has its own tab, Scan Photos is redesigned, and the whole app has a fresh glass look.
The home screen now greets you by time of day, with your nickname. Eat well, and keep the memories.

Your meal times, your hours.
Eat breakfast late and watch it get filed as an afternoon snack? Yum used to name each entry from fixed hours. Now those hours are yours to set.
Go to Settings → General → Meal Times. Tap any meal to rename it or change when it starts, use the plus button to add your own — Brunch, Late Night, whatever fits your day — and swipe to delete the ones you don't need. The last meal carries over past midnight, so your whole day stays covered. A "Right now" line shows which meal the current time falls into, so you can see the effect as you edit.
Free for everyone. Your existing entries keep their names — the new windows only apply going forward.
